Global Impact Musician

Global Impact Musician is an annual outreach program, in partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, designed to support and equip emerging artists and community leaders from East Africa with the skills and global opportunities needed to advance their craft and drive innovation in their local initiatives. Over the course of a year, participants engage in online workshops and mentorship sessions focused on personal growth, professional development, and entrepreneurial success.

The 2026 festival brings together Baroque music, dance, visual art, and innovation, featuring works by Vivaldi, Telemann, and Quantz; new commissions for Verità; internationally acclaimed guest artists; and the lecture-recital Quantz & Physics, marking the 100th anniversary of Schrödinger’s paper. Workshops, masterclasses, dance sessions, interactive family concerts, and reimagined Baroque dance invite audiences into a world where history, science, and creativity meet.

Summer Music Boot Camp at the Ruben Center

In partnership with the Art of Music Foundation’s Ghetto Classics program and the Althafen Foundation, this immersive music boot camp in Nairobi provided high-quality music education and teacher training. Through pedagogical workshops, hands-on teaching, and ensemble training, students and educators developed both musical and leadership skills. The program created a sustainable framework that continues to foster excellence, collaboration, and empowerment through music.

Sonatas Stopping Starvation

Sonatas Stopping Starvation

Sonatas Stopping Starvation is committed to raising awareness and resources for underprivileged children and their families. The group, co-founded by Zeynep Alpan, Angie Zhang, and Ariel Horowitz, combines artistry and responsible citizenship. Their premiere concert in  2013, was in partnership with The Food Bank for New York City. It included a food drive within the Juilliard community to support the Food Bank’s campaign, Students Against Hunger.
